David Chermol is the founder and lead partner at Chermol & Fishman LLC. He represents clients all over the US who seek Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits in federal court as well as at administrative levels. Mr. Chermol developed litigation strategy or litigated himself in major disability cases at the Social Security Administration (SSA) for 10 years. He was a member of the National Disability Policy Committee for President Barack Obama’s 2008 Campaign and has served as Regional Co-Director on disability issues in Pennsylvania. He has trained judges on administrative disability law as well as trained other lawyers with the Department of Justice on effective appellate advocacy.

Mr. Chermol has received numerous awards, including two Excellence in Service Awards and the League of Conservation Voters’ 2004 Grassroots Leadership Award in Pennsylvania after an exhaustive effort raising voter awareness of environmental issues.

He has served on regional and state committees for Clean Water Action since 1998 and was one of their national grassroots organizers. Despite all these professional acknowledgments, Mr. Chermol is most proud of his contribution serving as a Big Brother to a young man in West Philadelphia as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
At this time, one hundred percent of Mr. Chermol’s career is focused on disability litigation and fighting for the rights of those with disabilities.
